COYU (Suara, liebe*detail, Diynamic / Barcelona, Spain)
Coyu is the name of war of Iván Ramos, a versatile young guy born in the Summer of 1985, Barcelona. Vinyl and writing lover, he’s one of the most talented artists of the current Spanish music scene. As DJ, Coyu is daring, eclectic and innovative, he always stares at the future, although he lives the present and learns from the past. Label owner of Suara and Atypical Farm and with an increase career as musical journalist, Coyu is a multifaceted artist involved in the electronic music scene. His work as producer is starting and his first releases are coming. Discos De Lata (Xpansul’s label) was the first label that bet for him. But the international aclaim arrived with “El Baile Alemán” along his partner Edu Imbernón and released in liebe*detail last May’09. Artists, media and clubbers supported that big dancefloor bomb. Overall #1 on Beatport and played by Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Marco Carola and all the current international star system. This Summer/Autumm is going great for Coyu, he has released nice stuff along Edu or Uner on big labels like Diynamic, Great Stuff, Saved Records or Cr2… some of them are supported by Luciano, Laurent Garnier, Damian Lazarus, Âme, Mark Knight, Dennis Ferrer, Matthew Dear or DJ Hell. Just got 6 nominations on the Dance Spanish Awards 09 as Best DJ, Best Newcomer DJ, Best Newcomer Producer, Best Track (El Baile Aleman / Raw Sweat), Best Label (Suara)

Edu Imbernon (Eklektisch, liebe*detail, Barraca Music, Valencia, SpaiN)
At just 20 years of age the native Valenciano from Spain has torn up dancefloors all over the planet with his hit “El Baile Alemán” produced alongside fellow partner Iván Ramos (Coyu), released under German label Liebe*Detail and heavily supported by artists like Ricardo Villalobos, Marco Carola, Sebastien Leger, Agoria and many more. He also has the claim to rights of being one of the youngest artists ever to reach the TOP 100 on Beatport, at the same time ranking among the Top 10 on Decks.de and also as being in Resident Advisor’s Top 100 most charted tracks.
These achievements have been made possible due to the sheer hard work ethic and desire since he started DJing at the age of 16, but credit also to his Sound studies when he was 18 and an even more important appreciation to his father for education in piano.
In 2008 he decided to make the move to the capital of Techno music, Berlin, in a move that completely changed his view on electronic music and will influence his future promising productions.
Edu is the owner of Eklektisch, his own record label which is regularly supported by artists like Laurent Garnier, Joris Voorn, Gregor Tresher or Danny Tenaglia and has released himself as an artist on labels like Great Stuff, Trapez LTD , Diynamic, Suchtreflex, Noir Music, Cr2 records…. Future releases will see Edu on Rebirth, Get Physical / Get Digital, Opossum or Barraca Music with production work that is destined to make him household name

KASPER
(Esperanza, Net28, Lomidhigh, M_nus)
Madrid, Spain
Kasper founded the Esperanza label with Papol in 2005.
Before, they were both active members of Rdt collective, and organized illegal parties all over since 2002. In 2004 started to develop sets together causing a fantastic reaction among people… Both evolutionated to a more simple, synthetic sound, more percussive and less melodic never forgeting the connection with the crowd. The most important background came from post punk, rock, jazz, rap and of course electronic labels such as studio 1, basic channel, profan, chain reaction, mosaic, schatrax, perlon, planet E… In late 2005, Esperanza grew up with the idea of showing the crowd their favourite music, offering a personal view of electronic music. Also in 2006, their first release came out on Igloo netlabel, with remixes of Dario Zenker, Jorge Savoretti and Dilo and has been played by some of the main suspects of the minimal scene all over the world, caused also for the great response from public that this argentinian netlabel has in the present. Later on, Kasper collaborated with Minus with a remix of the minimal anthem RUOK? from newyorker Ambivalent and after with a track in the VVAA of Items and things 02 (label owned by Troy Pierce, Magda and Marc Houle). This year has a lot of surprises coming up, releases in Esperanza, Lomidhigh, Mupa… Also Kasper has another project with Franco Cinelli called Las vegas that will release twice during 2008, one in Hello?Repeat and another in Mupa (Damian Schwartz label) plus another release in Som Underground (New york label owned by Brothers Vibe) with Jorge Savoretti. Kasper&Papol have played in some of the most important clubs and events in the world such as deep club (Madrid). Watergate (Berlin), Rex (Paris), Fuse (Brussels), Arena club (Berlin), Harry Klein (Munich), Registratur (Munich), Minimalismi (Naples), South American Conference (Buenos Aires), Q club (Zurich), Gazgolder Gallery (Moscow), festival Klubbers (Madrid) and many more.

SOUL CLAP
(Airdrop, Wolf + Lamb)
Boston
Elyte and Cnyce’s paths were crossed for all time when a Sun Ra light beam sent from Saturn collided with the P-Funk Mothership and sent them tumbling to earth. Now, Soul Clap time travels on a musical spaceship of dopeness… (…) Soul Clap’s training goes beyond history lessons to mastering all the elements of the DJ: knowledge, mixing, programming, performance and experience. (…)They locked themselves in a basement until their mixing was flawless and traveled the universe observing the most advanced programmers (Josh Wink, Carl Craig, Francois K). Then they went out into the world to perform at Ministry of Sound in London, Paradiso in Amsterdam, Avalon in Los Angeles, Rise in Boston, and in smaller places in New York, Baltimore, Washington DC, Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, Mars and Jupiter plus dancefloors in other galaxies that you haven’t heard. 20 years of experience has prepared Soul Clap to free your mind, and your ass will follow. (…) Each summer they organize Dancing On The Charles (one of Urb Magazine’s six best outdoor parties in the US) and every Wednesday they host Midweek Techno (Boston’s longest running techno night). They also broadcast live to planet earth on the weekly Snack Pack Jack Attack Radio Show on Utopia Boston Radio and The Adventures of Soul Clap Podcast.
Frederic Zahm (Souvenir, NBFC) VS Hernan Sanchez (Meiotic)
Frederic Zahm, co-funder of Souvenir with his wife and after parties lover, and Hernan Sanchez, talented dj and amazing techno/latino dancer, both live in Chicago and have now collected a few successful back to back experiences in these last two years.

Seuil LIVE
(Moon Harbour, Freak ‘n’ chic, Raum…musik, Einmaleins, Paris, France)
Seuil visited our electronic world last year and said hello with a series of great releases. Many people didn..t hesitate to say that was the best newcomer for 2006.
He comes from the Reunion Island, a French department where he was living till the age of 18. Then he packed his stuff and moved to fascinating Paris, where he lives 7years now exploring the electronic sound at the French capital.
A wide range of classical music background like 8years of playing piano, jazz and blues formation, as well a few years of percussions gave him the feedback to work on electronic music composition.
He always tries to find a personal groove when it comes to his music. His interest in minimal house techno started with the discovery of the Perlon’s crew. With influences like Pantytec, Melchior, Cabanne, Ricardo Villalobos and Matthew Dear, Daze Maxim show us two different sides in Seuil’s music : dark rolling minimal along with modern minimal shaking house, but always with the same groovy spirit, heavy bass lines and obscure sounds collage, and to note that he is always inspired by his Argentinean friends that he collaborates quite often to give more noises for the dance floor. For just one year, he has been producing tracks to incorporate his own style to perform live.
In 2007, he is moving one step ahead to launch own label contributing at the scene in one more way and hosting on wax artists like Lauhaus, Jorge Savoretti, Heartthrob, Cabanne, Miss Fitz, Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss as well as his own creations. He has being djing for 4-5years now, but the live act that he has been performing for a year now is a must see.

Seuil is the boss of Eklo label, a modern Deep House Paris label which family includes Lauhaus, Hearthrob, Jorge Savoretti, Miss Fitz, Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, Laps, dOp, Skat, Posh, Agnes, Cabanne.

Sassmouth
(NBFC, Hej, London-Chicago)
Pursuer and creator of After-parties, because that’s when things really start to get serious. Self-proclaimed music junkie, and sound system snob. Lover of all wicked bass lines. Vinyl collector and abuser. Friend to freaks, free spirits, artsy-fartsy types, and illegal aliens. Worshipper of oceans, seas, deserts, and high altitudes. Proud owner of a super-itchy-fun-cat. Long time supporter of the need to overthrow capitalism. La Comandante of the Naughty Bad Fun Collective.

Frederick Zahm
(Souvenir, NBFC, France)
Frederick comes from Sarreguemines, a small French town bordering Germany. From a very young age, Fred has been influenced by schranz and hardcore electronic music (Manu le Malin, dj Rush, Chris Liebing). After a few years going out to German clubs, he moved to Paris and started spinning records around 17.
His music morphed into techno and finally minimal house techno. He has had the opportunity to play in France and Germany before moving to Chicago two years ago.
Currently in the Chi, he became affiliated to the NBFC crew where he found his US family thanks to Sassmouth and Hej records (Punisher, John Overfiend).
With his wife Noemi, he founded the Souvenir parties in 2009, which promotes French DJs and art in Chicago.

John Overfiend
(Hej, NBFC, Detroit)
John Overfiend, a nomad since birth, spent much of his younger years moving throughout New England. Eventually breaking away from the east coast he found himself living in the mid western city of Detroit. Completely unaware of the existence of electronic music and the underground dance scene, it seemed fate had led him to the birthplace techno.

Phillip Stone
(Autobrennt, NY)
Phillip Stone comes from the outskirts of Chicago, where he had an early exposure to the infamous days of the Midwestern house and techno rave scene. He made an early name for himself by opening for world famous international artists in key downtown clubs, as well as playing at numerous underground loft and after-hours parties. His early influences came from the likes of Marco Carola, Carl Cox, Derrick Carter, Mazi, as well as many others.
Well before the blending of techno and house became par for the course, Philip’s sets always drew influences from all corners of the dance music world. His sets range from deep house, techno, after-hours tunes, as well as tech-house. Having been in the circuit for about 5 years now, he has played alongside the likes of Dan Bell, Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, and many other key figures. Besides playing at parties during the Winter Music Conference and Movement festival the past 2 years, he has played frequently in Detroit (The Works), New York (Bar 13), and Miami (PS-14 and Karu and Y). All the while, he has been a regular in Chicago’s clubs like Smartbar, Zentra, and the Moonshine Mamby series. This year he plans to begin to produce, and plans are the works for some European dates over the summer. Listening to Phillip’s sets, you’re always guaranteed to hear something new, fresh (and probably unreleased), as well as rare and unexpected old classics.
