Seuil LIVE
(Moon Harbour, Freak ‘n’ chic, Raum…musik, Einmaleins, Paris, France)
Seuil visited our electronic world last year and said hello with a series of great releases. Many people didn..t hesitate to say that was the best newcomer for 2006.
He comes from the Reunion Island, a French department where he was living till the age of 18. Then he packed his stuff and moved to fascinating Paris, where he lives 7years now exploring the electronic sound at the French capital.
A wide range of classical music background like 8years of playing piano, jazz and blues formation, as well a few years of percussions gave him the feedback to work on electronic music composition.
He always tries to find a personal groove when it comes to his music. His interest in minimal house techno started with the discovery of the Perlon’s crew. With influences like Pantytec, Melchior, Cabanne, Ricardo Villalobos and Matthew Dear, Daze Maxim show us two different sides in Seuil’s music : dark rolling minimal along with modern minimal shaking house, but always with the same groovy spirit, heavy bass lines and obscure sounds collage, and to note that he is always inspired by his Argentinean friends that he collaborates quite often to give more noises for the dance floor. For just one year, he has been producing tracks to incorporate his own style to perform live.
In 2007, he is moving one step ahead to launch own label contributing at the scene in one more way and hosting on wax artists like Lauhaus, Jorge Savoretti, Heartthrob, Cabanne, Miss Fitz, Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss as well as his own creations. He has being djing for 4-5years now, but the live act that he has been performing for a year now is a must see.

Seuil is the boss of Eklo label, a modern Deep House Paris label which family includes Lauhaus, Hearthrob, Jorge Savoretti, Miss Fitz, Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, Laps, dOp, Skat, Posh, Agnes, Cabanne.

Sassmouth
(NBFC, Hej, London-Chicago)
Pursuer and creator of After-parties, because that’s when things really start to get serious. Self-proclaimed music junkie, and sound system snob. Lover of all wicked bass lines. Vinyl collector and abuser. Friend to freaks, free spirits, artsy-fartsy types, and illegal aliens. Worshipper of oceans, seas, deserts, and high altitudes. Proud owner of a super-itchy-fun-cat. Long time supporter of the need to overthrow capitalism. La Comandante of the Naughty Bad Fun Collective.

Frederick Zahm
(Souvenir, NBFC, France)
Frederick comes from Sarreguemines, a small French town bordering Germany. From a very young age, Fred has been influenced by schranz and hardcore electronic music (Manu le Malin, dj Rush, Chris Liebing). After a few years going out to German clubs, he moved to Paris and started spinning records around 17.
His music morphed into techno and finally minimal house techno. He has had the opportunity to play in France and Germany before moving to Chicago two years ago.
Currently in the Chi, he became affiliated to the NBFC crew where he found his US family thanks to Sassmouth and Hej records (Punisher, John Overfiend).
With his wife Noemi, he founded the Souvenir parties in 2009, which promotes French DJs and art in Chicago.

John Overfiend
(Hej, NBFC, Detroit)
John Overfiend, a nomad since birth, spent much of his younger years moving throughout New England. Eventually breaking away from the east coast he found himself living in the mid western city of Detroit. Completely unaware of the existence of electronic music and the underground dance scene, it seemed fate had led him to the birthplace techno.

Phillip Stone
(Autobrennt, NY)
Phillip Stone comes from the outskirts of Chicago, where he had an early exposure to the infamous days of the Midwestern house and techno rave scene. He made an early name for himself by opening for world famous international artists in key downtown clubs, as well as playing at numerous underground loft and after-hours parties. His early influences came from the likes of Marco Carola, Carl Cox, Derrick Carter, Mazi, as well as many others.
Well before the blending of techno and house became par for the course, Philip’s sets always drew influences from all corners of the dance music world. His sets range from deep house, techno, after-hours tunes, as well as tech-house. Having been in the circuit for about 5 years now, he has played alongside the likes of Dan Bell, Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, and many other key figures. Besides playing at parties during the Winter Music Conference and Movement festival the past 2 years, he has played frequently in Detroit (The Works), New York (Bar 13), and Miami (PS-14 and Karu and Y). All the while, he has been a regular in Chicago’s clubs like Smartbar, Zentra, and the Moonshine Mamby series. This year he plans to begin to produce, and plans are the works for some European dates over the summer. Listening to Phillip’s sets, you’re always guaranteed to hear something new, fresh (and probably unreleased), as well as rare and unexpected old classics.
